European 1 Gang (Single), 1 or 2 Way 400 Watt, (Leading Edge) Dimmer, Dimension Screwless Satin Chrome
Varilight European Dimension Screwless Satin Chrome, 1 Gang (Single), 1 or 2 Way Push-on/Push-off 400 Watt Thermal Safety Dimmer with Satin Chrome Knob (For Mains and Almost All Low Voltage Applications)
VARILIGHT European Dimmer Switches have an industry-wide reputation for exceptional performance, long life and innovation at attractive prices. This VARILIGHT Safety Thermal Series, like all our products, is designed to meet the latest European Safety Legislation. (Harmonised Standard: EN60669).
This Dimmer switch is designed for mains voltage lighting and can be used to dim good quality electronic transformers, like Varilight's transformers (the electrician's choice!) as well as Varilight Dimmer Dimmable Energy Saving-Light Bulbs. Only use on electricity supply of 216-253 Volts AC.
The maximum load stated on dimmer module label is for mains incandescent lighting (e.g. GLS lamps) or good quality Halogen bulbs (e.g. GU10, G9, and similar HiSpot lamps). When dimming Varilight dimmable electronic transformers, the load is calculated by adding the wattages of the transformers (e.g. 7 x 50 Watt transformers = 350 Watts, and therefore can be dimmed using a 400 Watt dimmer).
For transformers from other manufacturers, we recommend a maximum of 5 electronic transformers per dimmer circuit. Noise levels may vary depending on the type and quantity of transformers used.
Do not use this dimmer switch for wirewound low voltage lighting transformers, non-dimmable energy saving bulbs, fluorescent tubes or fans. This dimmer switch will fail if used for these applications, and incorrect use will make your guarantee invalid. Varilight fan regulators are available or choose Eclique V-Pro or V-Plus dimmers for other awkward dimming loads.
This diimer switch is protected against overload. If an overload occurs, it automatically switches off the lights, and will slowly turn them on and off until the overload is removed and the dimmer switch has returned to it's usual operating temperature.
To prevent this occuring, make sure that you load the dimmer correctly before wiring up. Maximum load as specified on the dimmer. If the dimmer switch makes the light flicker it is likely that it is underloaded. To calculate the load, just add up the wattages of all the bulbs or lamps that the dimmer switch module controls.
Don't forget that the added advantage of a dimmerswitch is that it will extend bulb life. This dimmer switch has a maximum of 400 Watt and a minimum of 60 Watt.
