Appearance, Function and Applications This dimmer is touch sensitive and remote controlled, meaning to operate it without a remote control, with a quick touch of the circular disc turns the dimmer on or off, whilst a longer touch makes the brightness increase or decrease. For touch control, the dimmer works on skin resistance. When using the remote control, aim at the infra red dimmer, with similar technique to touching. Once a button is assigned on the remote to work the dimmer (as shown in the Remote Handset instruction manual) a quick touch of a button and the dimmer turns on and off; Whilst a long touch increases and decreases the brightness.

The VARILIGHT V-Plus IR Touch and Remote Dimmer Series has been designed to dim a range of different fittings:
- Mains voltage incandescent GLS or candle-shaped bulbs
- Good quality dimmable electronic Low Voltage Transformers, including those requiring trailing edge control
- GU10 or similar good quality mains and Eco halogen bulbs

When using Electronic Low Voltage Transformers we recommend that a maximum of 5 good quality dimmable Electronic Transformers are used (10 if
Varilight Transformers) with this dimmer range. Please note: add the watts of the bulbs/lamps if using Varilight Transformers, to determine which wattage of dimmer to select, but if using another manufacturer of Transformer, add up the VA of the Transformers so it does not exceed the maximum of the dimmer. Please note that noise levels can depend on the quality of the Transformer being used.

Touch these dimmers to dim, or alternatively use a remote control. The dimmers are easily programmable so it is possible to dim your lights with a spare button on an existing remote control, for example a Sky or TV remote. Instructions on how to achieve this are included with the dimmer. If more than one Touch and Remote Dimmer is being used, the optional Varilight 8-channel Remote Control is available

The Touch and Remote Dimmer Series has Soft Start Technology, allowing a longer life span of the bulbs or lamps used by increasing the brightness level softly, which also creates a welcoming effect.

This Touch and Remote Series, can dim Varilight Energy Saving Lamps (CFLs), for 400 Watt dimmers = 1-15 CFLs, and for 600 Watt dimmers = 1-20 CFLs. This dimmer series will not dim Megaman CFLs.

Limitations These dimmers will NOT dim LEDs, if dimming LEDs choose either the
V-Pro,
V-Pro IR,
Multi-Point Remote,
Multi-Point Touch, or
V-Com Dimmer Series.

Please note V-Plus IR Dimmers are not suitable for use with wire-wound low voltage transformers, fans or inductive loads. Please choose the
V-Plus Series, which has many features including Overload Protection; Soft Start which is gentler on the load; and Dimmer Buzz Elimination, that can be created from the transformersor alternatively for Fan applications choose
V-Dim Solid State Series, please check with manufacturer of appliance to be dimmed.

Cleaning This product can be easily cleaned with a soft dry micro-fibre cloth. Never apply masking tape or other similar tape to the product. Avoid the use of any cleaning chemicals and always use a 'Gasket' on freshly plastered, painted or damp walls as the plates may tarnish. (Plaster can take up to 6 months to dry out). Unfortunately, if these Instructions are not followed, and the plate is damaged, it will void the product warranty. ..................................................
