Appearance, Function and Applications

You will find a variety of related products in the DataGrid range. This range enables you to choose data modules to fit onto special single and double face plates to create your own combinations. There are numerous DataGrid modules available including Brush, Audio, TV & Satellite, HDMI, Data Networking and Telephone all of which can be mixed and matched on one DataGrid Plate to meet your requirements. The DataGrid system is very simple to assemble, the modules just clip into the DataGrid Faceplates. Now available is the DataGrid Plus Modules, which allows mixing of power sources like unswitched sockets with any of the modules in the DataGrid Range.

Antimicrobial copper works alongside routine cleaning and sanitisation procedures to reduce the spread of infection, making this range ideal for healthcare and domestic environments.
Exposure to copper destroys viruses and bacteria completely and irreversibly.
Germs die rapidly on copper, which keeps working 24/7, in between regular cleans. Our Tarnishing Antimicrobial copper range is made from solid copper so this effect won’t reduce overtime.
Normal tarnishing or wear of Antimicrobial Copper surfaces will not impair the antiviral effectiveness of the product.

Although the Antimicrobial/Antiviral Copper range was designed to manage germs on contact, this range can also be used in properties requiring a distressed finish, as they develop a natural patina. This patina can be reset by polishing with Brasso or similar, which removes all patina effects and allows you to add a different distressed finish to your own taste. Alternatively, if you require a polished copper finish, then regular cleaning with Brasso, or a similar product, is best.

The VARILIGHT Antimicrobial/Antiviral Copper range is made from un-lacquered and un-coated solid copper and comes complete with solid copper switch rockers to ensure maximum Antimicrobial/Antiviral efficacy and carries the Cu29 logo. Clip on faceplates remove the need for visible fixing screws, providing a flat surface to facilitate cleaning. Normal tarnishing of Antimicrobial/Antiviral copper surfaces will not impair the antibacterial effectiveness of the product.
Please Note: These products are Anti-Microbial Unlaquered Copper, therefore they tarnish as expected. If you prefer a lacquered version, look at Urban Polished copper

Cat5 Vs Cat6 and Cat6a
Cat5 & Cat6 sockets and cables are used for a variety of applications, it is most often used for ethernet networking, eg. connecting computers, laptops, TVs, TV channel boxes and servers, etc, to modems and wifi boxes/wireless routers. There are many reasons for network cables and sockets to be installed in houses and offices over enhanced wifi signals: it gives more capability in every room/office space to get instant access to the internet without boosting a wifi signal. Speeds are faster too with a wired connection. The other main reason is wifi signal isn't the healthiest way of being on the internet, wifi signal is a form of EMF radiation, by cutting out the wifi signal and connecting directly to a router will reduce headaches, brain fog and other problems (especially if your wifi is on 24/7!)

So what is the difference between Cat5, Cat5e & Cat6? Mainly Crosstalk and high speeds. In a nutshell, Cat5 was the most commonly used networking ethernet cable in the home, but when there is a mass of cables (from electronic equipment, etc) that are close to each other, it can cause interference, also known as Crosstalk. Cat5e (Enhanced) is far better nowadays than the older Cat5. Cat5e has significantly improved performances including 10x faster speeds and reduced Crosstalk. Although, in these conditions, i.e. grouping of cables, or for best performance it's wise to opt for Cat6, as it reduces errors and lost packets. Therefore, if you are considering creating a new wired network in the home, Cat6 would be the best route foward. Please note that both Cat5e and Cat6 cable end plugs fit both networking sockets, meaning if Cat6 is installed in your house, you can still run a Cat5e cable from your laptop and it will still work. If you do require to future-proof your home then opt for Cat6A ethernet cables to create networks, as there is no loss of data on long runs of cables. [On the horizon, more so for business environments, is Cat8, this product will be able to support greater bandwidth and much larger data speeds, although Cat8 would be used mainly in the business sector e.g. data centres and server rooms, and not so common in the home.]

The most dustinctive diiference between Cat6 and Cat6a is the data transmission speed. Both cat6 and Cat6a cables can support data transmission rates to 10 Gbps, but Cat6 cables can only relay 10 Gbps up to 55 meters in length, whereas Cat6a can relay 10 Gbps up to 100 meters, Cat6a is perfect for larger houses and runs to outside buildings or garden offices.

Cleaning

This product can be easily cleaned with a soft dry micro-fibre cloth. Never apply masking tape or other similar tape to the product. Avoid the use of any cleaning chemicals and always use a Gasket on freshly plastered, painted or damp walls as the plates may tarnish. (Plaster can take up to 6 months to dry out). A Gasket can be made from the packaging the product comes in, or a plastic bag can be cut to stop the plate touching the plaster. Unfortunately, if these Instructions are not followed, and the plate is damaged, it will void the product warranty.
