Appearance, Function and Applications

The Toggle switch acts like a regular rocker switch but looks different. It has a short shaft with a ball on the end with a central fulcrum, press the Toggle switch downwards to turn on, and press it upwards to turn off, an audible click will occur when turning on/off the Toggle switch.

Varilight Toggle switches are suitable for controlling mains and low voltage lighting, halogen, incandescent GLS, LEDs and any other lighting. 3 way Toggle switches are to be used where the lighting circuit is controlled by three switches (or 1 dimmer and 2 switches) often called a 3 way or intermediate circuit, this Toggle switch has four terminals on the back, enabling you to link all three switches, of the circuit, together. Make sure, on the 3 way circuit, that the other two switches are 2 way (or 1 dimmer and 1 switch). For example, imagine a room with 3 sets of doors leading in to that room and one ceiling light circuit. The switches beside two doorways are 2 way switches, beside the third doorway, the switch would be a 3 way. Another scenario: imagine the same room with 3 doorways and ceiling light circuit. Beside one doorway is a 2 way switch, another doorway has a dimmer switch, and the third doorway has a 3 way switch.

Limitations

This switch is not waterproof. If this product is needed for external use please buy the following items IP66 Wall Box and if needed, a Spacer.

If you would prefer a dimmer instead, or need one to use in conjunction with this product, then choose one of the following dimmers: if dimming LEDs choose either the V-Pro, or V-Com Dimmer Series. If dimming mains and Low Voltage then choose V-Plus Dimmer Series, and if only dimming incandescent lighting, then choose V-Dim.

Cleaning

This product can be easily cleaned with a soft dry micro-fibre cloth. Never apply masking tape or other similar tape to the product. Avoid the use of any cleaning chemicals and always use a Gasket on freshly plastered, painted or damp walls as the plates may tarnish. (Plaster can take up to 6 months to dry out). A Gasket can be made from the packaging the product comes in, or a plastic bag can be cut to stop the plate touching the plaster. Unfortunately, if these Instructions are not followed, and the plate is damaged, it will void the product warranty.
